Too Focused

Ohioan Dreamscape
It's like looking through a camera and only being able to see one item at a time. Focusing in on one at a time makes it hard to get around to the entire picture. If you try to zoom out, you'll only end up hurting your eyes because it's just to much to drink in one gulp. The camera is your individual perception in society. You can only live in one moment/thought at a time. When there's more to look at, naturally it takes more time to get the whole in focus.
And when there's an influence always telling you to look here and there and that it's worth your time, it can be hard to get to around to the important things.
The media is a constant influence in our everyday life. Its primary function was to spread knowledge and protect us from the government by informing us, but now the media no longer focuses on protecting us. Instead it has evolved with our society into a materialized consumer based focus. All these little things you can look at, touch, and play with--all things to help pull the wool over our eyes and blind us from what is really going on in the big picture.
Now that the media has stopped protecting us from our government, what are we supposed to do to inform ourselves and make decisions on whether it's right or wrong. We need to be informed on what our country is doing. It seems like no longer is everything for the people, by the people, instead for the selected few and objectifying the people. Just so this small sum of people can succeed in their dreams of power.
Our representatives are supposed to inform us of the decisions at hand, so we can influence the choice, but on the contrary, we don't get much of a say in our government anymore. Our representatives have decided that despite our colors and individuality, we're just the same numbers in their satistics. Isn't green the only color that really matters anymore?
What do you suppose we do to take control of our republic before it has completely evolved in to an empire? The hippies made a point, and showed the government, that when it takes power out of our hands, we can always take it back by revolting and lobbying.
It could be time to do this again...
Nothing important is accomplished without passion.
